Course Description:
Desert Hot Stone Massage is a specialty massage service that is commonly offered in spas and clinics. This course covers the history, benefits and fundamentals of Desert Hot Stone Massage. Ample time is given to each student to practice with the stones and develop a full and complete treatment. Students will learn correct stone placement, and various techniques to utilize when working with the stones. The class also covers purchasing and maintaining the stones, and marketing the Hot Stone service. Participants will gain the knowledge and hands-on experience to provide this deeply relaxing and therapeutic treatment for clients.
Instructor Biography:
Melissa Rich is a Tucson native and the owner/operator of A Rich Experience Massage Studio and Spa. Melissa studied at the The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts - Cortiva Institute in Tucson, Arizona and graduated in 2003.
As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Melissa focuses on whole body balance, utilizing various massage techniques to facilitate her clients in their journey to optimum health and well-being.

Melissa has developed a unique and comprehensive Desert Stone workshop that will give students confidence to offer this deeply relaxing and therapeutic treatment to their clients.
Prerequisites: Open to Licensed Massage Therapists. No previous Hot Stone training required.
Preparation: Please wear comfortable clothing and bring linens, 3 large hand towels and massage oil or cream.
Please register early – class size limited.
Easy Cancellation Policy – Cancel more than 72 hours in advance and receive a full refund minus a $50 processing fee. Cancel after this date and receive a full refund minus a $75 processing fee. No refund will be granted for same day cancellation or not showing up for class.
